What is the purpose of using the sensor's aspect ratio options in-camera when a full frame photo can be used and cropped to the same aspect ratio(s) in Photoshop (other than the obvious of saving a step in Photoshop)?  Is anyone using this feature? What am I missing? Thanks.

I use it on my SL2-s as I prefer the 4:3 aspect ratio for some situations. It is the thing I liked most about my brief sojurn with the GFX system.

With the SL2-s I can frame with it and Lightroom applies the crop automatically upon import. I just wish I could assign it to Favorites menu or a function button…

Anybody know if CaptureOne does or plans to also offer to apply a crop based on the selected Aspect Ration at the time of shooting.

edit:Fixed 1 typo.. there could be more..

the DNG file doesn't show the selected crop from the camera, but you can add the crop you want to multiple images in one click in the aspect you want.

I realize I can crop with C1Pro. I am trying to find out if C1Pro will apply, as apparently Lightroom will, the aspect ratio that was used when I framed the shot in my SL2. If there is an As Shot Crop setting available in C1. Somewhere..
