Arista EDU Ultra 400 Black and White Negative Film, Cheap but any good?

Recommended Posts

I developed and scanned a roll for a friend a few years ago. I noted in my email telling him that it was ready to be picked up that it looked and scanned a lot like Foma 400, an old-school cubic grain film that I like for period looking prints because I find it flares a little more than modern emulsions in back lighted shots. FWIW I was developing with Ilfotec DD-X at the time.

That sounds familiar - I recall thinking it didn't have as much antihalation as TriX or HP5. A rather unique look.
