tom0511 Posted April 7, 2022 Share #1 Â Posted April 7, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anybody has compared the 2 lenses on the SL/SL2(-S)? Or do you know maybe any links to comparisons? I want a 28 APO SL, but I try to figur out if it makes any sense for someone who already has a M 28mm lens. My feeling would be the 28 APO SL to render more equal all over the frame and into the corners, with less vignetting and better corners, and to deliver an even smoother background blur. Advertisement Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Hi tom0511, Take a look here SL APO-Summicron 28mm vs M Summilux 28mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
beewee Posted April 8, 2022 Share #2  Posted April 8, 2022 All of Leica’s APO SL primes are the best performers in uniformity and contrast for their focal length across all Leica mounts/systems at their respective focal length.
Jeff S Posted April 9, 2022 Share #3  Posted April 9, 2022 Jono shows a graph from Peter Karbe comparing one aspect… https://www.slack.co.uk/28-summicron-sl.html I don’t follow Lloyd Chambers, but his site includes a comparison… https://diglloyd.com/blog/2021/20210908_2100-LeicaSL2-LeicaSL28f2-compare-LeicaM28f2-LeicaM28f1_4-Sigma28f1_4A-PopcornAndPumpkins.html  I see them as different in more practical ways: the SL Summicron sucks at f1.4; the M Summilux is much worse using AF.  And the SL  lenses are weathered sealed. Etc. Horses for…. Jeff  2
