General Question. I just acquired a M 10-R and two lenses. I also have a SL2-S. I live along the Texas Gulf Coast and was wondering whether or not I should get a humidity controlled cabinet to store my Leica gear? If so, would it be best to store the lenses and accessories in their protective cases or without the cases? High humidity and heat  in the summer months can be fairly brutal along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Thanks

Tom Cooper

Welcome :)
Without their cases and with good air circulation should be OK but if you want to be 110% sure use such a cabinet In general modern coating are pretty fungus-resistant.

That's what i use for my camera collection, and photographica...a bought new multishelf steel powder-coated dark grey inert lockable (ahum!) cabinet.

Also include a moisture absorbing "Camel" with easily rechargeable chemical flakes (basically safe Calcium Chloride)...from supermarkets.

I keep my many leather cases somewhere else.

Tom, if you can keep such cabinet in an air-conditioned room, all the better.
