LocalHero1953 Posted March 13, 2022 Share #21 Posted March 13, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've bought stuff from West Yorkshire without problems (I'm not denying yours), including a nice pre-Asph Summilux-M 50.

I wouldn't use Peter Walnes (aka Arri888 on ebay), Rocky Cameras or Nicholas Cameras, and MW Classic have recently had some terrible Trustpilot reviews. A good comprehensive summary which I fully agree with, having dealt with most on this list. I have just had a bad experience with MW Classics, having had good experiences in years gone by. I had to resort to my credit card company to get a refund for goods not supplied.

Or, better still could recommend somewhere in uk. https://theclassiccamera.com/ https://www.apertureuk.com/ Thank in advance Steve I've bought from both of these in the last couple of weeks: a 35mm Elmar lens from Classic Camera, and a Voigtländer 90mm viewfinder from Aperture. Both purchases went flawlessly and both items arrived within a day or two of purchase. Alan

Ignorance and arrogance are the worst traits in customer service (except for outright dishonesty). The owner doesn’t know what lenses fit on what cameras, and apparently also thinks that a lens diaphragm that is splattered in oil is perfectly ok, not worth mentioning in descriptions etc. Apparently the hipsters who seem to form the bulk of their clientele don’t care. But life is too short for that kind of thing. Peter Loy is the best. 100% satisfaction over many years of custom. Agree about Peter. He is reliable and honest. jpattison Posted March 15, 2022 Share #26 Posted March 15, 2022 And I can highly recommend Leica Store Manchester - very knowledgeable staff, and superb service. I've dealt with them since they were Stephens of Salford. Leica doesn't allow an independent retailer become a "Leica Store" without a great faith in their customer service and their knowledge of the equipment! https://www.leicastoremanchester.com John
earleygallery Posted March 15, 2022 Share #27 Posted March 15, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Glad I read this thread as I was looking at something on the MW website. Won't bother! I have bought a few things from West Yorkshire Cameras and have been really impressed with them (nicely packed, quickly despatched and items always better than expected). sevsuk Posted March 17, 2022 Author Share #28 Posted March 17, 2022 Just wanted to thank everyone for their input and considered comments. I went to aperture in London and got an m10. I also traded in my m4p for an upgrade to an m6. I loved the m4p, but I struggled with metering, using a cheap third party meter. Such an excellent forum and community. Thanks again. Pyrogallol Posted March 17, 2022 Share #29 Posted March 17, 2022 Despite the recent concerns about MW Classic, the lens I had made an offer on a few days ago arrived promptly and in nice condition. And a refund I was due has been paid in good time. Both transactions through E Bay. So personally OK.
LocalHero1953 Posted March 18, 2022 Share #30 Posted March 18, 2022 My credit card company has confirmed the refund on the item I ordered from MW Classic but failed to arrive. Lesson: when you sup with the devil take a long spoon credit card.

I have now removed him from my favourites search list.
