This is kind of a dumb question, but since I used the GFX 100/100s etc for the last few years', I was always paranoid about running out of space on my SD cards, so I was using the Sandisk Extreme 256's, shooting weddings/events/photo sessions with 2 bodies, so 4 cards total (at least) always RAW. Now that I'm shooting Leica SL2 it occurred to me maybe I don't need the 256's. Or, maybe I'm just overthinking it.

For any of you doing multi-hour portrait sessions or events/wedding etc, shooting RAW of course, what is your workflow? Using 128 cards (or smaller?) and switching out a bit or 256's and switching less frequently?  I'm always paranoid, smaller size cards mean you need to switch more frequently obviously, but then I worry I'll lose a card (because I lose stuff). But then on a larger card, yeah, it could fail and poof, there goes the whole works (one hopes the backup card though, well, backs up as planned).

I know, BIG decisions (joke), as always thanks for your thoughts!

I use the SL2-S on documentary work, often hybrid. Video in 422 4K. I bring two 256GB cards and a backup SSD to the gig. For me, this is sufficient for 3 days. Others would probably need 4-5 256 GB cards. How much GB you need depends on how you approach the task. But more is always better. I would never economise on batteries and storage.

Shooting stills at weddings, I use the sony tough cards, 256gb in both slots.

No risk at all. Photos over both cards.

I like 256 as I can do entire weddings without ever even contemplating running out of space. Never come near it. It;'s much safer to leave the card in the camera than it is pulling it out and putting it in a bag where it could be lost or damaged.
