First a disclaimer ..... This is not in any way a Leica bash.

I decided not to use the visoflex 2 this morning. Camera was turned off , I removed the Viso and headed out for our morning walk.

Turned the camera on , heard the usual click as the shutter opened, BUT nothing else , no screen , no menus , no play back DEAD (except for the shutter turning on then off.)

Could the removal of the visoflex 2 have something to do with the situation , later I re attached the visoflex 2 , turned the camera on , BINGO it worked perfectly.

I have no idea how this happened , I tied to repeat .... turn camera off while in live view with Visoflex ... etc but it would not repeat.

I'm treating the incident same as a camera freeze .... and moving on.

I'd be interested to hear if any other M11 users have had a similar issue

Yep. Picked up EVF Thursday. Had exactly the same thing. Also haven't had it repeat, yet.

Definitely a bug of some kind.

Interesting. I haven't seen this problem and I've actually pulled the V2 to disconnect it while the camera was on so I could view the scene on the LCD when shooting with a tripod. Probably shouldn't, but I used to do the same thing all the time with the 10/10-R and 020 and never had any issues.

Firmware is a bit of a mess.

I had it do that after crashing in the middle of a Fotos transfer.
Pulling and reinserting the battery revived it.

That was going to be my suggestion.

When I got my M-P 240, I got the EVF for it.  Looking back, the only times I used it was when using extension tubes and a tripod to do macro shots, which was not very often.  I guess I am just a rangefinder guy at heart.

When I get my M11, I'm not going to get the EVF.  If I change my mind (which I doubt) I would wait till after the firmware is sorted out.
