LACANYONHIKER Posted March 4, 2022 Share #1  Posted March 4, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering a trip to Iceland and will likely encounter wet conditions. Knowing that the CL is not weather sealed, have any of you come up with a DYI weather sealing solution for your CL?  I was planning on putting black electrical tape on the mic and speaker holes.  Maybe put a rubber ring around the lens mount area.  Does this sound lame or do you think it would help? Thanks.

jankap Posted March 4, 2022 Share #2  Posted March 4, 2022 If you use a tripod, an umbrella would be good too. Otherwise I (jankap) have never taken any precautions (only a backpack).
tritentrue Posted March 5, 2022 Share #3  Posted March 5, 2022 If heavy showers are in the forecast, I take this with me.  Not exactly DIY, but it's effective.  For light rain, I keep a small towel in my pocket while shooting so that I can occasionally wipe the drops away.  So far, so good.
tommonego@gmail.com Posted March 5, 2022 Share #4 Â Posted March 5, 2022 I have a plastic cover, bought at B&H when we were going to the Costa Rica rainforests. Never needed it and it was a pain toput on the camera without a releaseable neckstrap, recommend the Peak Designs Leash. I was definitely going to take it to Iceland, due to Covid restrictions and being on tour buses we decided against going. The above cover looks better. Have fun! Louis Posted March 6, 2022 Share #5  Posted March 6, 2022 Living in Florida where the weather changes every minute, I learned to always have a plastic bag on my pocket. Even the plastic bags of grocery stores make the job for me! 😅
