When I converted one of the photos to black and white, I noticed a couple of dark blobs in the sky. Are they dust on the sensor? I circled one of them. Thanks Welcome, dear visitor! I watched the video done by Nick from Leica Australia on how to clean the sensor using a stick with sticky stuff on the end. Weird that I don’t see any dust on it. I tried stopping down the lens and taking a defocused shot of a light colored wall but I didn’t see the same spots. I think Leica Store Miami sells those sticks. Dust spots on the sensor and on the lens filter seem to happen fairly often when there’s little moisture in the air. I use a cleaning kit that works. I have used some APS-C cleaning swaps with Eclipse cleaner when the blower didn't work, I always try the blower first. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
M.piras Posted February 28, 2022 Share #13 Posted February 28, 2022 (edited) Personally in many condition i prefer first the blower putting the camera without lens sensor down (sensor watching ground) and blowing at least 4/5 times. Then when using the sticky stick never use traction but only up & down movement. Even if micro dust, wobbling i have fear to scratch the filter on the sensor making more damage then a spot on the picture. Astropap Posted March 4, 2022 Author Share #17 Posted March 4, 2022 I tried cleaning the sensor just using the bulb blower thing and took the CL back out to the beach on another bright day. In the regular DNG file, I don't see any more dark blobs in the sky. Same when I convert to b&w using the red filter preset in LR. But when I convert to one of the presets in Silver Efex Pro, I'm seeing one faint spot in the sky on the left side of the image: Welcome, dear visitor!
