Apologies if this was covered before, i don’t remember seeing it mentioned…

Finally got my M11, it came with 1.2.1 out of the box.
The thumbwheel sets EV compensation, which is what it does on M240 too if you set it up that way (it’s an optional thing there, but seems baked in on M11). So far so good. So then i set up the custom function of the wheel click to M-ISO, so i can adjust that as well with a single hand on the camera. In LV that works as expected - spin the wheel, EV comp gets adjusted, click and then spin, ISO gets adjusted.

However, in rangefinder mode, if you click the wheel, it’s setting both ISO (visible on the screen) and the EV comp (visible in the viewfinder) *simultaneously*. E.g. if you were at ISO 100, and click the wheel then move it one notch anticlockwise, you’re now at ISO 160 AND you’ve simultaneously dialed in EV +0.3. Clearly a bug.

As an aside - what happened to red framelines? I liked that for night shooting…

The thumbwheel functionality can be changed in Customize Control>Customize Wheel.

You are correct, it is a bug. It has been mentioned here:

I miss them too. But AFAIK red framelines ended with the M240 and its variants. Only white framelines since the M10 was introduced. (Not sure about the M10P.)

Too bad.
The auto brightness of the framelines and the display is also... suboptimal compared to how it worked in M240.

On M240 it was practically always just right.
On M11 it's often too dim when it needs to be bright, or too bright when it needs to be dim.
It also seems like frameline brightness and LED readout brightness are independent and/or don't quite track, as i'll get blinding framelines in the dark, and a barely visible shutter speed readout.

In general, not sure what to think - i love the sensor, i love the software improvements (sans bugs), but the viewfinder optics, readouts, thumbwheel feel and couple of other ergonomic quirks are somehow noticeably worse than M240 (i never used M10 & co.). I also miss the M240 thickness (which i thought i wouldn't), but don't miss the M240 weight (which i thought i would) :)
