Help identify a strange Summicron 35mm 8-element (re-posted in International forum)

Interesting!
The photo from the TO shows a big (maybe modified/repainted) black dot for the apperture stop.
It's a lot smaller on my Summaron

On my Summicron 8 el. is a bit larger... but not like in the OP lens... which imho looks also to have a chrome finishing someway "strange"...

 

Btw... the Summaron above posted has in turn an oddity : the base is of a Summicron... DOF scale 2 to 16.

Another oddity, mystery counting number of rings in front

I never saw such protruding of lens protection looking from one side

here 6 or 7 on authentic version 1 Wetzlar Summicron 1:2/35 # 2 09x xxx

That's what I thought, so someone may have messed with your lens, too. As long as it works well, that's not a problem though.

I do not use f22 either, I just mentioned f22 as it is part of the Summaron's DOF scale.
