Do you get the same screen shots as the ones i posted here?
I think what would really help me is to see a screenshot of the Image Count you are referring to.

Can anyone post a screenshot of that?

If on a Mac, hold down the shift key, the command key, and hit the #5 key for a screenshot. You will have to reduce the size of it to post, due to size restrictions of this site.

I apologize for any confusion I created by calling it shutter count when it actually is image count.  Of course one could argue that to have one the camera must do the other. 🙂

Anyway, in a feeble attempt to help you find that elusive number I borrowed your previous screenshot and sloppily circled the "i" you're looking for.

Run the Leica Sync 1.4 program and connect your camera via wifi just as you did when you took this screenshot but this time click on the "i" that I've circled.

Hope this helps.

Finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Here is a screen shot of the info I get when I click on the "i" button in the top right corner. You'll see the difference between the L1000230.dng image to the left, (photo just taken) and the Image Count from the i button drop down window. The Image Count (which some say is the shutter count) is way below the actual photos taken. I take most of my shots through the viewfinder, not the Live View LCD screen. Thanks to all who pitched in and helped me to finally get to this window.  After all is said and done, I have my doubts this software will tell you the true shutter count of your M series camera.

Robert, I glad to see that you've found the info you were looking for.

I realize that your image file name numbers and the image counts don't match.  Actually that is to be expected.  I see from your firmware version number that your camera was updated by you or the selling dealer at least once.  That would explain why the filename/number is greater than the image count.

You see, Leica, in their infinite wisdom, has for reasons beyond most mortals comprehension,  decided that when doing a firmware update that the filename/number needs to be incremented by 101 beyond the last highest number image file on the sd card.  My best guess is that it's for the user to easily see where in their image collection that the update was performed.

That is why others here have said that the filename/number is irrelevant...past experience and thinking just as you until they did an update and noticed the big jump in numbers.  I'm told that there are other things that can change the filename/number sequence and there are a few brilliant people on this forum that have figured out a way to work around this firmware update induced error.  I'm not one of them, I just accept that my numbers don't match.🫠

From the screenshot you've posted I would have to say that you are the proud owner of a practically new camera with just a little over 100 images taken with it.

Hope all is well and you are enjoying your new camera.

Hi everyone! I just used the software for a used M10 Monochrome I purchased. When I connect the camera, I get 400 or so blank squares with a cross in them as well as the a few new photos I took. And yet I get the image count around 1090. What do you guys think?

If you are an Apple user, try this app: https://transienteye.com/software/

Its main function is downloading pictures from M10 to your Mac, but it also shows the image count of each image.

Not the shutter counts (which is higher if you use liveview), but the numer of image files created by the camera from its birth.

I tested the count with a new camera, its correct!

Works fine for me.
Shutter count is correct

If the photos look ok on your computer and on the camera’s LCD then I wouldn’t worry about it
