Just to say, my M11 still seems sluggish from time to time across the various drive modes, even on firmware v1.5.0.1. I'm learning to live with this issue!

Well, I am not happy reading this. I haven't bought the M11 yet. But one of the biggest problem with my Fuji x-pro2, is exactly the same as you all describe. It is so annoying to take 2 pictures, and removing the camera from you face - and then get an image of your feet ☹️ So as long this is a problem with the M11, I guess this is not the M camera for me. The Leica Q I have, is way better when shooting fast in single mode...

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like we're talking about different issues. I have no pictures of my feet :) Probably my fault for using the word "sluggish".

This is what I still experience from time to time:

if I then fire one shot, release the shutter and then try to fire another one immediately, the camera does not take a shot, as if it is not ready. I can only take one shot every one second approximately, which feels slow.

Seems present across all drive modes.

The issue doesn't seem to happen when I'm testing the camera at home, but when I'm outside moving about, I occasionally miss a shot. Like I said, I'm learning to live with it!

Well I think it is about the same. The Fuji xpro is maybe just a bit slower. But in all the same. I take two shots with the shutter button in single speed mode. The second releases 1-3 seconds later. And here my camera takes an image of my feet 🤣 But glad to hear that the M11 is a bit faster between the shots. In all, I would love to have an M11 at some point. But lets see what happens with firmware and what is hardware problems, in the next year. And then I will decide.... For now my Leica Q / Fuji x100v  / Fuji x-pro2 combo is fine. (The x100v is actually a fantastic camera in all ways - and with no shutter lag, but that is another story 😉 )

Every cameras has a shutter lag. Shutter lag in digital Ms is very short. (Shutter lag is the delay between pressing the shutter and the exposure taking place)

It's a while since I had an X-Pro2 but yours sounds like it has a fault. People can (and do!) debate the milliseconds of shutter lag between cameras A and B, but 1-3 seconds between shutter button and shutter curtain is a problem.

The Fujis (and AFAIK many mirrorless cameras) perform metering maths with max (native/compatible) lens aperture, then stop down to working aperture (assuming that's not wide open) for the shot, which incurs a lag penalty, but it's not seconds...

The XP2 should have (give or take some milliseconds for leaf vs curtain shutter) the same shot to shot performance as your X100V.

Also on the Fuji, if you don't fully release the shutter between shots it won't re-meter and fire as fast as you can hit the button (again, give or take some milliseconds)
