I rarely go through a full battery, but I tend not to spray and pray either. I also use classic metering, so the battery isn't powering much up until it exposes. If I use the EVF, I'm more likely to use 2 batteries.

it really depends on your type of shootings, but with classic matering, normal chimping, it would easily last a day, but having a spare battery will always be good

not that it is great but it aint bad either...just nice capacity not over shoots kind of thing battery

My M10R (BP) has not so far required a battery change in a day's shooting.  I carry one but haven't needed it yet.  I don't use the screen at all for focusing/viewing  unless I'm using my 21mm lens, which is very seldom.  I do have the review selected, set for 3 seconds.

The only problem I had was during walk in cold weather - it was around -10 C or even less, and camera was hanging on my hand all time. Battery was about 50% charged. I was shooting for about 1.5 hours, when suddenly it refused to shoot and there was an error display message on the screen (I shot in LV mode mostly) - it was something like "charge your battery immediately". After heating the camera, I could successfully continue shooting.

Sounds similar to my M9. My M9 will usually refuse to shoot when it's been out in weather below 0C for an hour or so

The battery on the M10-R was as bad as my other M10’s except the M10-D which has no screen.  I don’t consider myself much of a chimper but I use he visoflex from time to time with wide lenses. I never ran out of battery but always carry 2 spares. The M11 has fixed the problem and for the first time in years since my M240 days, can go out with the camera even if it’s on 50%. I would never go out without a fully charged battery in the M10-R.

It is interesting that some of us have experienced no issue with M10 battery life and others have...

FWIW, the battery that came with my M10R BP didn't work - wouldn't charge properly or operate the camera for more than 20-30 minutes.  I transferred the battery from my M10 and it worked fine. I advised the store and they sent me a new battery to replace it.  So maybe there are enough differences in individual battery capacity to make a difference in a day's shooting.

I have the same experience as most of the responders here, hardly a problem with a day's shooting and I hardly use the screen either, at least much less than with earlier M's.

You have to see three things, which are the same with the M10:

- using liveview or EVF

- using Wifi to send images to the Leica Fotos app

- using GPS

will drain your battery remarkably fast
