Bill Claff published his analysis of the M11 sensor:

https://photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm#Leica M10-R,Leica M11

The maximum photographic dynamic range of the M11 is near the very top of all 35-mm cameras tested to date, with only the Canon EOS R3 and R5 measuring a bit higher than the M11 (11.91 stops, 11.85, and 11.82, respectively).  Every other camera with a PDR higher than that of the M11 is a medium format camera or uses multi-shot modes to combine multiple exposures.

Kudos to Leica for finally putting a top-of-class sensor in their digital M.

i wonder if the m11 sensor is cut from the S3?

The M10-R sensor is supposed to be "the cut from S3" sensor. [AFAIK no official statement from Leica, but rumors and a matching pixel pitch...😉]
M10-R is measured with PDR 10.71.

Oh, no...  Another M11 thread where the nitpicking, histrionics and butthurt will rage on for at least 500 pages. 😳

Pssst, you must never say something like that in a Leica forum. And especially not in a new model where almost everyone is freaking out. That is blasphemy

And above all, what can the normal photographers do with a PDR? They didn't have one in the past either and the photos were historic and good.

The pictures make it, the eye of the photographer and not the PDR. As mentioned above, nitpicking.

I think it should be OK to discuss purely technical aspects of photography, not only the creative ones.

I merely report the facts...
