If you want to use a sling on the RHS with a grip, you need relatively flexible fingers. If you can manage it, I think it is excellent - sadly I can't. I am wondering if the Luigi wrist strap might be the answer for me. However I think you would need to take your neck strap off which would be a bit of a pain.

Wilson, yes I think it's an either/or choice on the straps. Using the wrist strap now, I have a small shoulder bag to keep the camera in when I need my right hand. :)

Doug,

Having fairly recently bought a lovely Luigi wide, double adjuster neck strap in black and burgundy, I am reluctant to put into storage quite yet.

I used a sling for a couple of weeks, then noticed that the eyelet was ripping the sling material. Fortunately I caught it before it completely ripped, but you may want to keep an eye on it.

You can use a hot soldering iron to melt the nylon fabric a bit to tidy-up small frays or rips, but I wonder if your fit is not too tight if it is ripping the fabric in such a short time.

If you don't have a soldering iron, a #2 Philips screwdriver heated up over a gas flame, will also re-seal the holes. When I was making my own slings and a couple to give away to friends, after cutting the holes with a gasket hole punch, that was what I did to stop them fraying. It is quite easy to damage the holes when you are struggling to get the split rings through the body eyelets.

Wilson, I like your low-budget approach, lol.

It would be nice if the Sling holes had metal eyelets to minimize this issue.

Hey Philip and Wilson,

Thanks for your suggestions. It may have been too tight. I did go with the size recommendations of the Goodies site though.

I think my sling is pretty far gone. I had mixed feelings about it anyway.

I'm back to just wrapping the strap that came with the camera around my hand. I got one of those Luigi half cases which is wonderful and more than makes up for the lack of a wrist strap. Much easier to grip the camera in my hand and be more casual with the strap.

I use both the sling and the hook and attach both to the right hand side. I find the sling the most comfortable (and secure) way to hold the camera, but I did order the largest size and use it through my first and second fingers, rather than as specified.

The hook appears to me to be a safer way to carry the camera in the field than the standard neck strap and a much more comfortable way to carry two bodies, one in the hand and the other on the hook. Easy to swap over, too.

Ordered some more today.

Another SLING for my M2, and the SNOB.

Not sure about the SNOB, but I'll post my opinions about it when recieved.

Anyone used the SNOB. Love the name!

Saw the SNOB - bought a 3M Bumpon for £0.50 works just as well if not better. Like much of Rik's stuff but not too sure about this one.

Yeah, I hear you, but I think as an entrepreneur myself I find is incredable that someone takes time and develops some great accessories for our beloved M's. And at the end of the day, the producs are inexpensive, and I would spend a lot of money just going out hunting by car for a similar product in some hobbystore. I like to support the effort.

And products he offer do look great. Like they belong on the M.

But shure, I agree, one could make this stuff him/herself.
