On a separate bag thread it was recommended to me to consider the vintage Leica lens connectors to consolidate space.  I went there and found it to be an elegant solution for my 4 lens kit.   It also enabled me to repurpose a perfectly good 12 year old 5L Crumpler bag with room to spare.  I cover each pair of lenses with a silk glasses sleeve and drop them in the padded "tube" in each corner that are velcroed in.

I’m carrying mine around in Australia at the moment in my Fogg Lyre.

It’s very good for travelling unencumbered and will swallow 1 body with lens on and one or two more depending on how big they are.

It’s got sufficient pockets etc to stash a few personal items - hotel keycard, paracetamol, pen, cleaning cloth etc. It will also take glasses in lieu of the extra lens space if you want.

I flew with my Billingham  Eventer 2 and the Fogg slid neatly into that leaving plenty of room for Kindle, headphones, medication etc

My Billingham Hadly Pro is more than 30yrs old - and I have barely used it because of the weight when fully loaded. I take it if we go on a vacation by car, but also then, I have other bags for the daily walks.

I like the Oberwerth Kate, a sling bag that always stays open so I can grab the second body or another lens. My wife says it's a model for females (and she is right), but it is the only really fast and elegant bag I have found. It is made from leather and I wouldn't take it out if it's raining. Also, just hanging over one shoulder, it can become painful if fully loaded (2 bodies with lenses attached plus another 2 or 3 lenses). Can also store my 16" MacBook.

The one I take more and more with me is the Mindshift Fotocross 10L (there are bigger models available) which allows for  2 bodies with lenses attached plus another 1 or 2 lenses. This one is used like a backpack - hence more comfortable in the long run, and it is (somewhat) water resistant. It comes with a cover to protect it from torrential rain. The system is such that you don't have to take off the bag to access the gear, you can just turn it around your belly. However, there is no space for a laptop; it works for a smaller iPad. For me, this is no problem, as I just need the photo gear with me.
