echorec Posted September 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Has anyone used this? I have a small collection of Viso lenses and I wonder if I can use these on the 5D? Like this: Camera--->R/EOS adapter-----> 14127-----> Viso lenses. What do you think? The lenses are 65 Elmar, 90 Elmarit head, 12,5 Hektor, 200 & 280 Telyt. I also have the OUBIO & OTZFO. Thanks, Gunnar

doubice Posted September 6, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2007 Gunnar, There is no reason why the combination would not work. Since there is no auto diaphragm coupling, you will have to work stopped down but, you probably know that. You will need the OTZFO for the 65mm Elmar and 90mm Elmarit head, the OUBIO for the 125mm Hektor and the 200mm Telyt. Depending on the version of the 280mm Telyt, it will either need the OUBIO or it will mount directly into the 14127. The 14127 had a diaphragm scale which simulated the set diaphragm to the original Leicaflex - this feature will of course not function on the 5D - R/EOS Adapter - 14127 Visoflex Lens combination. echorec Posted September 6, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted September 6, 2007 Hello Jan, Thanks for the quick reply. This should be fun and I don´t mind stopped down metering/viewing. Best regards, Gunnar
jaapv Posted September 7, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 7, 2007 This is a confusing thread title; the M to R adapter is of course the Leicina-R # 22228, but that would not work for a 5d-Visoflex lens.
doubice Posted September 7, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 7, 2007 This is a confusing thread title; the M to R adapter is of course the Leicina-R # 22228, but that would not work for a 5d-Visoflex lens. Jaap, I guess a matter of semantics.... M to R adapter is meant to adapt M (Visoflex) lenses to an R body, which is what a 14127 (and 14167) adapter will do. The 22228 adapter could be referred to as an R to M adapter, as it is used to adapt R lenses to an M (or Leicina Special) body. Main thing is, Gunnar has an answer to his query. luigi bertolotti Posted September 11, 2007 Share #10 Posted September 11, 2007 Post something taken with the Hektor 12,5 !!! Is a strange lens with a fascination of its own... I still have to try it with M8...but one day I'll find the right occasion... I'll suspect could be a great static portrait lens for BW, used wide open or next to.. Hektor 12,5 on a Canon DSLR ... what a strange view... and the lens looks in very nice condition... and it's a Wetzlar (Seem to remember it's slightly less common than the Canada... I also have a Wetzlar one, n 1.121.xxx)
