How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Files” and s

Standard contrast adjustments (levels, contrast) and dodging and burning in Photoshop - similar to what I used to do in the darkroom back in the day. However, unlike film, in digital I have to pay attention to all the whites instead of the shadows in the capture and then pay attention to keeping those whites viable in post (tricky to do when trying to achieve contrasty color images).

Also, I used to run photo labs and developed an eye for tone in the final print. I find myself tweaking the M11 colors to fit what I like - often adding a touch of single color or combination of blue, red or magenta to make the colors look the way I like (not to everyone’s taste…). That is not something I could easily have achieved in my old darkroom…
