This place is always busy.  It is the wall behind the food outlet that appeals to me.

@Tailwagger -- did a frog just jump?  And where did you find your hilltop in ground fog for the previous shot?

Nope. Cormorants.  Not a birder, but AFAICT they like to get a running start on the water in ordered to take off.  I was walking by down by the water, the birds got startled and made enough racket before taking off that I managed to get off the shot before they were gone.  The previous shot and a few other similar ones were done atop a levee yesterday morning out in central MA.  Here's another from the same location that gives you an idea of the terrain.

We just had Purim in Israel.  What's Holi?  Is there a connection?

Given the "wearing of the green," I'd guess St. Patrick's Day holiday (March 17). ;)

A Spring festival in India.  A lot of fun.  Originally a Hindu festival though when I was young it was quite a secular event celebrated by all.  Unfortunately getting less secular like many tings in India.  Lots of applying and throwing colour or coloured water around.  Not a good day to wear clothes you value too much 🙂 !

Interesting to see them all coming together.  The wearing of the green, the throwing and smearing of all colors, and the costume party that celebrates one more reprieve from disaster.  i think Spring calls for a party, and the explanations come from anywhere.  This picture is from Purim:

Hi Scott,

Holi is basically a spring festival, arrival of spring, end of winter. There are a lot of religious (hindu) elements as well eg triumph of good over evil. From a photographers point of view, I love the colors, both the dry colors directly on a person and the general colors in the air for many.

Previously I had just used my SL/SL2, this was the first time I tried to shoot, carefully, with an M.
