In MN and ND a lot of small towns park a derelict car on the ice, tethered to the land, and the townspeople bet on what day the car will fall through the ice. Does that happen in WI? We're smarter than that here. 😉 We do, however, have little contests for guessing the date the lakes will freeze over and another one for the date of the first snowfall over one inch.
