Infantasy Posted December 27, 2021 Share #1  Posted December 27, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) The focusing ring of my Summarit 50 f1.5 is very stiff and I have successfully dissembled for lubrication except the retaining ring as shown. I unscrewed the lock screw and tried to unscrewing the ring anti-clockwise but unsuccessful. Does anyone know the unscrewing direction is anti-clockwise or clockwise? Thanks a lot.  Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! jerzy Posted December 27, 2021 Share #2  Posted December 27, 2021 this is standard, clockwise thread (unscrewing counter clockwise). You will need spanner (left photo) On the right photo focusing mount in parts. This is Xenon on the photos, as far as I know mechanical construction is very similar if not the same Welcome, dear visitor! I believe they having the same mechanical construction. Your photo is very helpful. I have similar spanner too but can't unscrew the top retaining ring. I'll try it again may be let it soaked in alcohol awhile. Thank you very much. stevenkasapi Posted November 13, 2024 Share #5 Â Posted November 13, 2024 @Infantasy, did you have any luck with this retaining ring? I see it's been a few years since you tried it, but i'm having exactly the same problem. I've tried soaking in alcohol and acetone but can't get the retaining ring to budge (yes, I removed the small set screw!). Thanks!
