M Journey Posted December 24, 2021 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can anyone point me to hot shoe cover that will work for the m10 bodies? I don't want to spend the money to get an official Leica one right now as this is a temporary body. I just need it to protect the connectors, don't really care about the color match or exact fit for the body as long as it stays on and will keep moisture out. thanks

rramesh Posted December 24, 2021 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) A quick search on eBay will bring up a lot of choices. Most under $3-4 including free shipping. Edited December 24, 2021 by rramesh
a.noctilux Posted December 24, 2021 Share #3 Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) Lost mine so long ago, so having some more at hand is good idea. As the contacts need protection, I made in few minutes a squarish plastic at good size to put in the hot shoe. For a while the protection was a piece of adhesive tape, not nice looking, but works for a while. Or something like this (without the end cut as M10 has no screw there ... no need identifier or something to remember ) Edited December 24, 2021 by a.noctilux
rramesh Posted December 25, 2021 Share #4 Posted December 25, 2021 I use one of these. Quite useful when camera is mounted on a tripod with no level gauge. Welcome, dear visitor! I actually ended up ordering that earlier today. I always thought that hot shoe covers were farily universal but when I looked at a few on amazon they always listed the bodies they were compatible for. Maybe that refers to how they blend into the body style and color. This will look awkward on my Silver 10-P but it's a temporary body so I'm not too worried. Helmut Posted December 12, 2023 Share #7 Posted December 12, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica has known about this problem for quite a long time (since the M10 was on the market). Unfortunately, not enough people have complained about this via customer service. The only way to solve this is to contact Leica Customer Care Service (customer.care@leica-camera.com). The more people would raise this is an issue, Leica would than prioritize this issue in the right direction. Please refer to my comments today. Many thanks.
