Finally got SL2-s and here is my first silly question: ISO step

Finally I got it! Just love the color of the image it takes and I believe it can contribute both on my hobby and paid work, hopefully!

Here is my silly question: is there half step settings for ISO? Now I can see 200-400-800, spent quite a long time but could not find step settings, so no half step in ISO in this camera? no big deal just a bit confused. I can not find anything about this on the internet, so any comment is appreciated. Thanks!

The SL2 changes ISO in full stops, although EV can be adjusted fractionally.  I assume the SL2-S is the same.

Thanks! I found EV can be 1/2 or 1/3 stop as well. OK, then I will stop looking.

HOWEVER, I found some SL2 sample pictures are at ISO640 or ISO160. Some quick search on internet, for example, SL2 sample image on DPR.

What happened? Auto ISO maybe?

It isn't a big thing, but it would be very easy for Leica to give us 1/2 or 1/3 stops for the ISO. Take a look at the dynamic range of the SL2-s at DXO.

Instead of setting the ISO to 640, set it to 400. DR is larger at ISO 400 ;-).
As a raw shooter, I have always set my cameras to change ISO by full stops. It is quicker to change ISO in full stops.

Blame the use of ISO standards for film speed or sensor sensitivity rather than using the DIN scale. The ISO is an arithmetical scale whereby a one stop increase in sensitivity means a doubling of the ISO: 100, 200, 400, 800, …, 6400 and so on. The DIN scar is logarithmic, so that an ISO sensitivity is equal to DIN 21, 22 is a one-third stop more sensitive, … DIN 24 is equivalent to ISO 200, 27 is the same as 400, 30 is as 800…. So DIN is much less wow inducing than ISO, but it really is a more intuitive scale. Quick: what is an ISO one-third greater than ISO 6400?  In DIN, one-third more is just 39 plus 1: 40
