I would lighten up the castle a bit in photoshop. It is the centrepiece and looks a bit too shadowy to me.

Andy is right, black point and levels, maybe some curve adjustment.

Also I would have a look at colourbalance, it seems to me to have a bit of green cast in the shadows.

Another nice trick is to use USM at radius 50 and threshold 0 maybe 100-150% to bring out the detail. This enhances microcontrast.

This picture is worth some work :)

OK, Jaap, Andy, Pete, Chuck & Stuny, thanks for your comments, I am no technophobe, but all these comments about USM's and curve adjustments and checking my levels are way over my head, PS elements is a mystery to me, but I have had another go, is this version any better.

These days, a little knowledge of PS is essential to get the best from your shits, I'm afraid.

Curves is included in PSE now, IIRC

In that case I strongly recommend the purchase of Photoshop Elements 5 and the Scott Kelby book to go with it. The VLux1 is a great camera, but the files do often require post-processing to get the best results. This shot proves you've got a good eye, and that deserves the best prints... If you post the original file on yousendit.com, some of us could play around with it, if you like.
