Any one tried the new sigma16mm? How is the colur and image quality compare to leica 18mm please? Thank you for helping me. Just feel a little uncomfortable before to use non-Leica brand on body so did no buy.

I dont have the lens but I consider it as you do. I found these links, and according to what I see it looks fine to me.But it is on the heavy side in terms of size and weight.

Which new 16mm Sigma? Sigma calls SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary "the new Sigma 16mm", but AFAIK it was launched in 2018.

I checked again are those announced in2020? The 16mm 30and 56for L mount.

The L-mounts version announcements:

2016: 30mm

2020: 16mm, 56mm

16mm for Sony et al (same optics as L-mount) was announced in 2017.

I just got the 16mm, had no time yet to test it against the 18mm. Hope to report in later.

I have the 16 and it punches way way above it's weight. It's not a small lens though...shot a bunch of keepers with it and great for landscape.  I've never had the 18, so I can't compare.

I shoot a couple of scenes both with 16 and 18mm lenses. So far, I do not see much difference. The main differentiators seems to be the size/weight and the max aperture.

You can try vivid and dark light. The colour may differs

Because of the size, I prefer 18mm. But, when I need the two extra stop of light, I may use the 16mm.

It will take many more photos until I can make a final opinion.

I've owned the 16mm Sigma since it's release, I still have it, I think it is an amazing lens, close focus ability, nice contrasty images similar to Contax Zeiss lenses. I tried the 18mm Leica and that also seems very nice, especially the size. IQ on both is excellent, I didn't bother getting the 18mm.
