jaapv Posted December 5, 2021 Share #2 Posted December 5, 2021 Yes, I see what you mean. I cannot think of an explanation offhand. Does it do the same if you use another editing program?
pierreninaphotography Posted December 5, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted December 5, 2021 HI, yes I have taken multiple shots today and all the same ! Sensor issue ?
jaapv Posted December 5, 2021 Share #4 Posted December 5, 2021 Possibly - you"ll have to send a DNG to Leica and ask. It could also be a software issue.
a.noctilux Posted December 5, 2021 Share #5 Posted December 5, 2021 Is the lens clean, mainly rear lens ? Filter ?
jaapv Posted December 5, 2021 Share #6 Posted December 5, 2021 But the strange thing is that it is only red bleeding.

adan Posted December 5, 2021 Share #12 Posted December 5, 2021 (edited) 11 hours ago, jaapv said: But the strange thing is that it is only red bleeding. Not quite. Notice the red flower at extreme left-foreground of the flower patch. Green has bled into the red to the extent the red is nearly removed. (remember the "complementary primaries" from your color wheel!) Greens could be bleeding into other greens (grass to trees, grass to grass, grass to leaves - and vice-versa) throughout the rest of the picture and not be obvious. It's ALL green(ish). Althogh looking closely, I also see a "cyan glow" around the netting over the bird-bath, into the surounding foliage, as well. Check the magnified version. I would check for fogging - vapor condensation - inside the lens, not just on the outer elements. And on the sensor cover glass. As well as use another lens as a cross-check. Fogging, of course, can come and go. Noting that it is Sydney in local "summer" - step from a cool air-conditioned indoor space out into hot humid conditions, and condensation may fog up the lens. Step back into the drier AC air, and it will evaporate rapidly. Rinse and repeat.... If it still keeps appearing after all of that (plus the post-processing software) has been checked - then it would be time to query Leica. The one other thing I can think of right now is that "color noise reduction" in the PP software has somehow been turned up to maximum by default - that will "smear around" chroma data into neighboring pixels. pierreninaphotography Posted December 6, 2021 Author Share #13 Posted December 6, 2021 Hi, Thank you for all the replies and what might be going on. This morning took a few shots again ad still the same . I can't try a different lens until Tuesday as I am away and only took the 50 f1.4 Lux ASPH BC. So it's off to Leica Aus, I am bracing my self for a high cost repair ! After a quick conversation with them, it seam it could be the sensor , circuit board . So lets see. Many Thanks, Dominique Pierre-Nina.
Hicks Posted December 11, 2021 Share #14 Posted December 11, 2021 Could you have knocked a lens element out of alignment? Did you try another lens?
Alberti Posted December 15, 2021 Share #15 Posted December 15, 2021 to me there might be a different explanation all together. In post processing, I have seen colour blur like you show, appear: it has to with the setting of e.g. in de details tab/. If I pull the slider in Liightroom to the right this happens. [Same in C1]. But as always, a quick check shows not what I have in mind . . . I had it in a picture a few months ago, I saw it 'distort' but where oh where.

Darryl Posted February 3, 2022 Share #18 Posted February 3, 2022 Out of desperation I changed the color space from sRGB to AdobeRGB and that appears to have stopped the color bleeding on my MacBook Pro. However, as many will know, the colors are not the same either. Darryl
Darryl Posted February 5, 2022 Share #19 Posted February 5, 2022 My bad. I had changed from RAW to JPEG and the bleeding does not show up in JPEG. However, If I mail a color bleeding image to my Mac email, the result isn't bleeding in playback. Go figure. would welcome any solutions but I suspect I will have to become more adept at PP and get real PP software.
Tietje Posted February 10, 2022 Share #20 Posted February 10, 2022 I've had a very similar issue, .DNG files from my M240 processed using Apple Photos on a 2021 13" M1 Macbook Pro. suddenly producing wishy washy colours (iPad and iPhone as well). Everything was fine until the middle of September when I noticed this, Photos was perfect up until then. Through a process of elimination .. .DNGs from different Ms, process using a 2011 Mac Book Pro, process using a third party App (Affinity Photo) all of which produced good results. I think the issue is with Apple Photos, probably an "upgrade" which has had a detrimental effect on M240 .DNGs. I've been on to Apple, raised a case number, they're working on it, that was two months ago. I've attached what I'm still getting. Welcome, dear visitor!
