Today i noticed this on my one week old MP. Is that normal? I can't remember it like that. Does it look like that on your MP as well?

It looks more like its on the outside rather than the inside.

It should not be like that. Regardless of age (unless it was stored in an attic for decades!)

It should be simply a translucent serrated surface, with no "gunk" in it.  ^^^^^^^^^^^

The question, then, is how and when did the gunk get there?

If you are sure it was not there a week ago, something happened in that week.

Someone spilled something (powder, or liquid that evaporated leaving a residue) on the camera in the past week, and cleaned it up, but did not notice the window. Or something similar. (Rather reminds me of a portable record player I had to clean up, after a dorm-mate vomited on it - but on a much smaller scale 😡 ).

Hvae you tried wiping it off? Is it crusty, or loose dust?
