Hey all,

Having something I can't figure out on the leica q2 m -

Seemingly only on manual mode - when I have press the shutter, the EVF and LCD completely change 'exposure'. More specifically, if I'm 1 + 1/3 stops under exposed... the LCD or EVF will become way brighter...almost to 'compensate'... when the shutter is pressed half-way. Then shutter pressed and the exposure is what I set.

I have a suspicion that the exposure compensation is 'set' to something different than what I am setting the exposure, and the half-pressed shutter is showing me what the 'exposure compensation' is set to. But why would it do this? Any way to turn this off?

You can read the detailed explanation of this in Q2 manual (p.80) in section “EXPOSURE SIMULATION”.

Interesting. I have read that - still is not "working properly". They claim that the 'brightness of screen image matches exposure setting' on P-A-S, and when you turn exposure preview to P-A-S-M - this should be achieved...

Why then am I seeing a different 'brightness' AND the histogram change exposures only on manual mode when the shutter is pressed half-way? If this were to happen on my system camera for a commercial shoot, suffice it to say I would be irate, or at the very least ensure this setting turned off...
