This is airworthy Spitfire PL983, widely known as 'L', a photo-reconnaisance PR XI aircraft. It wears its PR blue livery, but under its wings is now written 'Thank' (R) 'U' (Centre) 'NHS '(L).

On the fuselage is written the names of hundreds of UK National Health Service (NHS) personnel who served, and continue to serve, the UK during the Covid pandemic.
