Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 17, 2007 Share #21 Posted September 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Robert just takes a little time to get used to the Wate and the menu selections. Images look awesome though as i know what this lens can do. i still want to see the firmware change to get rid of the 18mm default setting and go to remember last WATE setting so if you power down than back up it goes to the last setting made. Than if you take the lens off and than replace later than the menu option pops back on like it does today. But i like the idea of off /on that the last setting retains just as ISO does. May want to call leica on the viewfinder for a replacement

Bill W Posted September 17, 2007 Share #22 Posted September 17, 2007 It seems like they are doing better on WATE deliveries than on Noctilux.......I ordered my Noctilux 6 months ago.

robsteve Posted September 17, 2007 Author Share #25 Posted September 17, 2007 Rob: Are those picture from Nova Scotia? Yes, Peggy's Cove and near Peggy's Cove. The dog picture was in my back yard in Halifax. Peggy's cove is about 30km outside of Halifax.
leicabug Posted September 17, 2007 Share #26 Posted September 17, 2007 It seems like they are doing better on WATE deliveries than on Noctilux.......I ordered my Noctilux 6 months ago. Unfortunately Noctilux will the the last one to fulfill on the discount lens list.
marknorton Posted September 18, 2007 Share #27 Posted September 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree the camera should remember the last WATE setting, even when a different lens is mounted so that when one is, it goes back to the last setting. Not 100% foolproof though and, as Rob has found, easy to change the focal length in the heat of the moment without updating the menu setting.
robsteve Posted September 18, 2007 Author Share #28 Posted September 18, 2007 I just noticed the bottom half of the warranty card is missing. This is the part you fill in and send to Leica. Did they just fill it in for me since the lens was going direct from Leica NJ to me? Anybody else that has gotten a 30% discount lens in the USA notice if the warranty card was missing the mail in part? Robert
Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 18, 2007 Share #29 Posted September 18, 2007 They may have done that for you Robert but i am not certain

robsteve Posted September 18, 2007 Author Share #31 Posted September 18, 2007 I just figured out the warranty card issue. In the bottom of the box was a pick ticket which had the note "pull cards and register." I suppose they do that so people don't just buy the 30 % off lens and sell it at a profit. Bill W Posted September 18, 2007 Share #32 Posted September 18, 2007 Robert, I thought this was Peggy's Cove. I photographed these buildings almost 20 years ago which are in the background of your first picture posted. Leica R6 and 135 f2.8 I believe. Welcome, dear visitor!
