To all,

Not to rain on anyones parade but this slightly reminds me of early notebook computers & the associated, hypothetical, masculinity of pulling out your Powerbook in a coffee house. At least here in the USSR.

Sincerely,

Nice. Does that mean if I drag my Apple computer to Russia then a bevy of ladies will come over? :D

Save the money and the hassle of lugging your shiny goods along. Go to any railwaystation parkinglot and wave a 20 $ or € out of your car window and you'll get all the attention you crave for ... so much easier you know

I don't know about Leicas attracting women, if anything women complain about "boys and their toys". If there is an attraction it's probably that those ladies are also photographers and want the Leica and not you. However, Bill H. once convinced me that I needed a wife/girlfriend in order to carry my 180mm f/2 Apo-Summicron R due to its bulk and weight. Frankly, I'm not sure that works either...:D

Sorry but I'm actually not a big Beatles fan... My music has been stuck in Paleolithic era. Actually my favorite rock band is Steely Dan so I only get Rikki's phone number...

Okay, I may be young (30 years in Oct.) but hey, I listen to jazz mostly. Hank Mobley to Ramsey Lewis. :D

My spouse was an accomplished amateur photographer before we met. Now, 37 years later, she demands priority on our M7 and CM - - relegating me to our M4.

Yeah, then she wants her slides to take priority in the projection routine.

I'm reminded of a signature that someone used to put on his e-mail, viz.:

"Women and Cats will do as they please

Men and dogs just have to get used to the idea."

Last Saturday I attracted the attention of a younger lady in a bookstore. Although we just talked about this and that, the store was crowded and my wife was also around, the atmosphere was quite intimate (I have never looked to such green eyes before). I must confess that I had my M2 with me, but in a belt pocket - does that count too? :-))

Best regards

Oliver

If my Leica begins to attract high school girls, I will surely be arrested.

But, what about the reverse? Would guys be attracted to a woman with a Leica around her neck? It would certainly get an approach from me.

Albert--Your comment about the 90mm reminds me of the time I was shooting a football game. It was half-time and I was standing near the fence that keeps spectators off the field. I was holding a Nikon with a 600 f/4 attached and a very beautiful young woman came up to me and said, "My you have a BIG.............lens. How BIG is your.......lens?"

Left me speechless. Fortunately.

Albert,

I didn't intend my comment to be mean spirited. I have a lot of respect for jazz and was what I listened to at one time. Then around '69, '70 there was a tremedious shift starting with the Paul Butterfield blues band, & "Its only Rock & Roll but I love it, love it, yes I do" Mick Jagger.

Have never looked back.

Sincerely,

Michael Dickey
