Advertisement Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Hi Perceval, Take a look here three-element lightweight 90mm f4 Elmar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted November 7, 2021 Share #2 Â Posted November 7, 2021 Hello, I don't have one, even if I want to buy one for a while. Trusting my Leica Pocket Book 8th Edition, page 189, about 305g. For me it's not light, comparing to my Macro-Elmar-M 240g. or TE 'thin' 2.8/90 at 225g
Perceval Posted November 7, 2021 Author Share #3  Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) Merci, Arnaud. About 305g seems right: have just read somewhere else that states 300g.  I think "Lightweight" must be misleading. I have a 1961 M mount 90mm f4 Elmar (4-element) that weighs 251g. So, one might favour the three-element type because of its optical qualities but not because of any supposed weight advantage. But perhaps I am I confusing (or conflating) two different lenses. Pyrogallol Posted November 7, 2021 Share #4  Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) I have two. On my kitchen scales one says 226gms, the other one 218gms or 231gms with a front cap. Leica Pocket Book says circa 305gms. Someone else might have a more accurate set of scales?  Welcome, dear visitor! a.noctilux Posted November 7, 2021 Share #5  Posted November 7, 2021 So, that is good with about 70g-80g less, it's interestingly light. Now I want one 😉.  Just out of curiosity, I've never weight my Elmar 4/90 LTM, now I know it's 194g 'nude'.
