Depends if one considers selected lens rendering aspects as ‘flaws’ or as ‘character’.  More resolution will reveal more of either, depending on display parameters.  Glass half empty/half full.

Yep. First Leica lens I owned, when I got an M6 back in '96. It did the exact thing you are talking about. Sold it on many ages ago.
