fabianoliver Posted October 25, 2021 Share #1  Posted October 25, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all. someone knows if this viewfinder can be dismantled and cleaned? the optics are broken in the edges, clearly this cannot be fixed, but I was wondering if can be cleaned, cause someone is selling it along with a summaron 35-3,5 ( cosmetically bad) but with good glasses. txs for your opinions Welcome, dear visitor! zeitz Posted October 25, 2021 Share #2 Â Posted October 25, 2021 Hard to tell exactly from the photo, but it looks like fungus to me. Â Often, be not always, the traces of fungus can be removed. Â Mix 10 parts hydrogen peroxide and 3 parts ammonia; soak and wash with this mixture using lens cleaning tissues; rinse;Â then clean with normal lens cleaning fluids.

a.noctilux Posted October 25, 2021 Share #5 Â Posted October 25, 2021 Hello @fabianoliver the title may be change to 3,5cm. I have one in good shape "SBLOO", but don't know how to open. For me this finder would be very difficult to open, as the two screws under it do nothing ...
alan mcfall Posted October 25, 2021 Share #6  Posted October 25, 2021 I guess the optics are inserted as a unit through the large front opening, and retained with adhesive. Heat may be required for disassembly, but how much and how long, I don't know, never tried it.
mikemgb Posted October 25, 2021 Share #7  Posted October 25, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought one of these with a loose front element a year or so ago, it rattled around a fair amount but it wouldn’t come out. There were definite signs of dried adhesive around the edge of the element, but I believe there is also a very slight crimp or roll to the front edge which prevented it falling out.
