SoCalLeicanator Posted October 7, 2021 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all. I have the MegaGear case for the Q2 and hate it. The design is such that it is extremely difficult to remove the memory card. I end up using tweezers. What are people's faves? I have the Kaza for my CL and love it but am looking at some others. satijntje Posted October 8, 2021 Share #3 Posted October 8, 2021 Instead of a case I intend to get the Q-bag from Oberwerth.https://oberwerth.com/products/the-q-bag-leica-q2-tasche Not really cheap but you can get a 10% discount with the newsletter.
higa Posted October 8, 2021 Share #4 Posted October 8, 2021 I too have the Arte Di Mano with the battery and card access. The SD card is harder to take out than without a case at all, the ADM case adds about 1/4" to the bottom. The Lim's case was deeper I thought. Does the MegaGear case "deepen" the hole, so to speak, for the SD access door also? You know, the best bet might be just the Leica handgrip. I thought it would be a pain in the butt to take it off all the time for the card and battery access, but I found that I didn't mind it so much. It's easy to come on and off. And the battery lasts much longer than the original Q, so I only ended up taking the handgrip off every 2 or 3 days after heavier than average use. neild100 Posted October 8, 2021 Share #5 Posted October 8, 2021 Another vote for the Oberwerth Q-bag I also use an Angelo Pelle case. https://www.angelo-pelle.com/category/leica-q

The Mega Gear majorly deepens the hole to where it is an exercise in dexterity to get the card out. Will look into the options above. fumigatus Posted October 9, 2021 Share #7 Posted October 9, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an Artisan&Artist half-case for my Q2. Very happy with it, and absolutely no problem or irritation to take it off to get access to the card or battery.

LexS Posted October 12, 2021 Share #10 Posted October 12, 2021 I am very satisfied (price and function) with the standard Leica case, and it is low profile.
Trankster Posted October 14, 2021 Share #11 Posted October 14, 2021 I also purchased one of the Artisan&Artist half cases with cutout/flaps to access the battery and memory card. I originally purchased the Leica case, but returned it as I found it to be heavier that the A&A case. I would think most cases with the cutout on the bottom can be a a little difficult to snag the memory card. With my Sony card I use the tip of my fingernail, but could also use a key or small knife blade to catch the edge of the card. It is not a big deal. nwphil Posted October 17, 2021 Share #13 Posted October 17, 2021 (edited) Not my favourite, but it functions - the hand grip it's ok , do like the metal bottom that is arca-swiss compatible, and despite not being fully enclosed at the bottom, the access to card and battery it's easy enough while remaining far enough away from most debris - yes, a LIM's case sure the leather does not feel refined neither has the natural scent, but I will be placing my Angelo Pelle case and strap for sale - truly don't need more the the cheap case is providing Edited October 17, 2021 by nwphil

It's all about experiencing it the way God intended. A ding and a scratch here and there add a bit of character and personality.
