On a recent trip to Ngala Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park in S Africa, we came across a pride of 11 lions on a Buffalo kill. Two of these Lions, a male & a female (probably siblings) were White Lions. This is an extremely rare sighting, the last time I saw White Lions in the wild, was in the same area 42 years ago.

These Lions are not albinos, a recessive gene is what gives them this colour.

You can see the stark difference in colour between the male White Lion and the other Lion in the bottom right corner of the image, who's gorging himself on the kill.
