E 76th St?  (but without the brightly parked ice cream truck that's usually on that corner...)

I am not from the city so wouldn’t know that by sight but we were walking on 5th Ave heading toward The Met and would have walked right by 76th so, I believe you maybe right! 🙂

I walk to the Met from a bit further down at least once a week so its pretty familiar 😉. I've also photographed the truck a couple of times...

(Just noticed if you go on street view in Google maps you can see the truck in question)

The truck in question (or Ice cream van as we would say in the UK) snapped today while walking up 5th from our apartment to the Met for the In America fashion exhibition.

FYI the tower in the background of Tuna's shot is usually much more recognisable in colour - the green pantiles and gold cupola of the tower of the Carlyle Hotel (where when we first lived on the Upper East Side in the 90's Bobby Short still "tickled the ivories" in the Café over cocktails).

The truck must not have been there when I passed by as I definitely would have noticed THAT! 😄
