Vlad Soare Posted September 25, 2021 Share #38 Posted September 25, 2021 One thing that may have escaped unnoticed in this test is how accurately those lenses focus with the rangefinder. An SL2, with its state-of-the-art autofocus system and high-resolution electronic viewfinder, would hide any front/back focus that the lens might exhibit when focusing manually. But I guess in the case of the 90mm Summicron the difference might not be significant, since the current APO doesn't have a floating element. Actually, as far as I see it has a surprisingly simple optical formula for a modern Leica lens. Possibly because they could find nothing to improve to it. Thank you for taking the time to do this. It's really interesting.

Vlad Soare Posted September 25, 2021 Share #40 Posted September 25, 2021 Of course, the autofocus is irrelevant for M lenses. I don't know why I mentioned that. 😊
