That’s a wonderful photo, even on my phone, with lots of gradation between black and white. I’m thinking about getting one, aside from blowing out the highlights are there any drawbacks?

on a serious note: @ FredMiranda website's there is at least one listed that might be interest you, if you don't mind used

It's a specialized tool - that alone can be drawback. I see more pluses, and blowout highlights can actual work well - they simply can't be worked with (aka recovered)

Despite having AF, it's not simply a snap-shot gizmo. Can be set to almost fully manual, even focusing aids taken out/turned off, but still is not an RF camera. I do have a Olympus Pen F, and yes, does have both b&w jpeg film mode, and a raw b&w -  the rendering it's not at Q2M level,  after all still is a m43 color sensor with only 24mb.. The experience of handling  and shooting  with the Q2M is far superior imo, and feels somewhat familiar with a regular M.

Thanks for your reply. I’m in the UK, so there aren’t many, if any in the second hand market yet. I do have a film rangefinder, a Fuji X-pan. I have a Ricoh GR which I can set to black and white. I’m not sure I can justify a digital M, as I’d probably use one lens. I’ve seen some excellent photos with a strong graphics design. As you say it I specialist tool. Ive not seen much buyers remorse!

Summary: M10M is the king, but barely:  the M10M beats the Q2M by about 1/3-stop;  Q2M ideal maximum ISO: 25000, M10M ideal maximum ISO: 32000

I have a Q2M paired to a M10-P and love mine.  The tonality of the greys and the ability to shoot in near dark conditions is stunning.  It is in these near dark conditions that I find I need the autofocus as I can't see well enough to operate manual focus in the dark.  It is in this specific shooting scenario that I find the Q2M has the advantage over the M10M.

IMO, the main reason one would want a M10M over a Q2M is if one already has an assortment of lenses that one wants to shoot with in monochrome.  For my style of shooting though, I am happy to shoot with the Q2M's autofocus in the native 26-28mm focal length and crop as needed.  I also subscribe to the notion that you don't want to tie up money in digital Leica bodies so for nearly the equivalent performance as the M10M, it makes better sense - to me - to get the less expensive Q2M and put the savings towards glass for my M camera.

An ideal maximum ISO of either 25,000 or 32,000 is a monumental benefit, particularly in light of the fact that my M-P 240 shows too much noise for printmaking at ISO 1600.

I'm not sure how much of a benefit the Q2/Q2M's extra 7 mp is compared to the M10/M10M, but it can't hurt, particularly if you want to make larger exhibit quality prints.

I have the Q2 and it has become my go to color camera unless I need to use a longer lens.  The Q2 makes me think about getting a Q2 Mono, even though I have an M10 Mono.

The M10M tests slightly better, but in real-world use, you will never notice the difference. And they are both light years ahead of a color sensor in low light.
