  • fbonde changed the title to Leica SL2-S with m lenses tutorial

that's quite straightforward:

make sure the correct or closest lens is selected in the profile

dont completely trust the peaking, so once youre in the ballpark, zoom in via the back button and check again

i prefer red peaking

after every shot set the focus back to infinity, so you're only going to turn it one way when taking the shot

zone focus if you have to

Thanks for that, it when pretty well. I wish I could youse the AF-mode "field" where I can move the point where I need to object to be in focus, If I shout items to another similar stuff.

I think Leica's statement has been slightly more cryptic, like "optimized for M lenses", which could really mean anything. In practice, they do much much better than cameras like Sony and Panasonic, which are not designed for M lenses. But they don't do as well as the M cameras themselves. This suggests to me that the M cameras have more specific offset micro lenses to work with lenses that have off-axis light. The SL cameras either have unusually thin cover glass or less aggressive micro lenses. My money is on a particularly thin cover glass. This is because there have been some reports of L mount lenses also being sharper on the SL bodies vs the S1 and S1R, and the fact that, while much better than on Sony and Panasonic mirrorless cameras, more difficult M lenses are not quite as good on the SL bodies as they are on the M bodies. This is most apparent on wide angle lenses, but also on certain longer lenses like the 50mm Summilux ASPH or 75mm APO Summicron. They do very well still, but not quite as well as they do on M bodies when they are wide open.

You can move the zoom location, just use the joystick or your finger when liveview is on LCD.

By the way, it would help if you would proof-read your posts before submitting.
