Bloss Posted September 10, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I am fairly new to Leica owning a Q2 amazing camera but the lens cap!!! Any tips on how to keep it on? I even used an elastic band until a photographer friend of mine commented on it🤣Or does no-one bother using it? Thanks😁

jaapv Posted September 10, 2021 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2021 Many of us never use lens caps. Only the hood and if desired a protective filter. Their only function is to get lost. Oh - and lost opportunities due to a black EVF.
stuny Posted September 10, 2021 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2021 This is a topic often covered here since before long the lens cap falls off, often lost. For those of us who use lens caps (me for one, and I also have the protective filter and hood attached) there are a number of good replacements. I especially like the one from Match Technical - Match Technical Lens Cap for Leica Q and Q2 Cameras MT-LC-SR-01 (bhphotovideo.com) 2

PhotoCruiser Posted September 29, 2021 Share #5 Posted September 29, 2021 Some small squares of gaffer tape make the internal diameter slightly smaller so that the cap will not fall off. Experiment with how much you need to have the darn cap resting in place. Thats my HillBilly solution for it and it works for me. A 3rd party lens cap will fix the problem too.
