I have absolutely no idea what "chimping" could be, but I am quite sure, Louis did a very impressing photo of a wonderful nice lady!

Werner, thank you very much. Chimping means going through your pictures in the camera and checking each shot.  But I may be wrong since I didn’t get much reaction from our friends. 🤗

That's the correct meaning of chimping.

Don't take it personally that there hasn't been much reaction. It's increasingly rare for people to comment on photos in this forum. Mostly, it's just look and move on. Even clicking the "like" button is more effort than most want to put out. This is a dramatic shift from the early days of the forum when it was common to have long, vigorous discussions about images.

Very few new images are being posted compared to even a couple of years ago. The People and Street Photography sections are the most active, but day after day when opening those sections we see the same photos. New ones are increasingly rare.

This isn't hard to understand. Who wants to post a photograph on a photo forum and have it be completely ignored?  Lack of participation will eventually kill this forum. I've seen it happen with others.

Not a problem at all, my friend! I am not here to show off and to tell everyone how good I am; and expect applauds!!!... lol

I am here to see photographs and to learn and to improve my photography! But I noticed that several people have a completely different approach. Some post and over post just anything that comes out of their camera and I wonder what exactly is their purpose; some take this site for a private and family site as everyone is free to post anything (!!!); some others have nothing else to do!!!... But they have buddies  that applaud them!!!... I am shooting enough to post 20 mediocre pictures every single day! But that would be so disrespectful for others!...

I discovered this site about ten years ago from friends who were already here. I saw some very inspiring shots from a bunch of good photographers and I liked this place very much. But now, it seems becoming just another site with people who post just anything,  disrespecting other posts,  and  the normal flow of posts. I really think this is a pity to see this once a wonderful place, and with all the efforts that Andreas is doing,  becoming like a car wreck, and dying little by little  because of just a very few people!  Many good photographers already left or don't waste their time to post!

I know, every good thing has an end; and, this is a pity!
