kivis Posted August 19, 2021 Share #1 Â Posted August 19, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) What a great day. Sunny, plenty hot and humid, but I didn't mind. Pulled out my delicious Leica M-A mated to a Summicron 50/2 ver 5 and shoot two rolls of Tri-X. Meterless, battery less just a smooth marvel of full on creativity. Oh sure I metered each new venue with an iPhone app just to get my bearings. Then I went full creative. Subjects were nothing special but the ultimacy of me, my camera and lens. It was a great day! Back home and I'm smiling.

TomB_tx Posted August 19, 2021 Share #2 Â Posted August 19, 2021 I remember that feeling of freedom: in college had no light meter, but shot Tr-iX & Panatomic-X In a Pentax H1a & later M2 & M4. Never worried about exposure, just estimated & got results. Then added a Leicaflex SL and metered all the time... Lost something in the process. Datsch Posted August 19, 2021 Share #3 Â Posted August 19, 2021 (edited) That's a nice story, thank you. Sometimes I wish I could turn off the meter (and the framelines) in my M-D for an M-A like experience -- though now I think of it, a shoe-mount OVF would do the same thing ... I might just give that a whirl ... as long as I zone focus as well ... Â Edited August 19, 2021 by Datsch
