Hi all

The charger for my M8 is no longer charging my battery's ( I'm using the charger from my M9 at the moment ), has anyone else had this happen and could it be fixed. If its unrepairable are there any decent third party chargers that work ok with M8/M9 battery's ?

Nitecore makes one.

Hello, i bought this Ansmans charger when the fuse in my M9 charger was blown while traveling in Iceland. It works well, you charge almost all recharable battery's and its very light, ideaal for traveling i think.

Nitecore would be my choice too Geoff.

However, before discovering them I had purchased an alternative which also had the option of a 12V (car) supply lead (my original bulky M8 charger didn't have the 12V lead, though I managed to source one through this forum).  I think the alternative came from a supplier on Amazon, or perhaps eBay.

I just bought an M8-2 and M9 charger as I couldn't stand the big hunking charger fromthe M8 any longer. I was having problems charging my 3rd party batteries, didn't seem to help. I just bit the bullet and bought new Leica battery, B&H had a $20 off sale.

There has been already some talk about those 3rd parties batteries in the forum for the M8/M9. What I learned from it is that those should be used until completely empty. From that point charge the 3rd party battery and use again until completely empty, and so on. I'm using one 3rd party battery and my 2 genuine M8 batteries from 2009 are still in very good shape and performance. I did not like the bulk of the original M8 charger and replaced it with a Nitecore charger. It's very small and perfect for charging the batteries.

Best
