Sorry if this is somewhere else. Was trying to see if the front button on the M10 was able to customize to toggle on and off the b&w jpeg setting?  I shoot dng and jpeg.  But like to shoot between color and b&w depending on the scene.  Would love if there's an easier way to switch between the two without going through the menus.

Thanks for any help

Welcome DigitalCypher,

Sorry to say that there is NO customization for buttons on M10.

The best way to program what you want is to record DNG+jpg setting jpg to b&w.

Then have the two formats to choose at home in PP.

Or as many of us ( plus myself ! ) one color M plus one Monochrom 😉.

I have no idea what you want really to accomplish.

Thanks for the info.  That's what I was figuring.  I shoot both raw and jpeg.  But a lot if times I just send the jpeg to the phone via the app.  That's why I like to switch between the color and b&w jpegs.  Raw take up a lot more space on the phone.  One day I'll have both.  Right now saving for lenses 1st. Haha.

You can create two user profiles, one for B&W jpg and one for Color jpg.

It’s quite easy and fast to access user profiles from the Info screen (Center button on the Directional pad), and then “area 23” on the screen:

Ask yourself how people shot B&W before being able to see an image on an LCD? With B&W film in the camera all photographs were first seen in colour, but they were imagined in B&W. That's all you need to do, image the colour image in B&W and wait until you get home to convert your .dng into B&W where you will have far more control over the image.

It's not so much that as it is that I travel a lot for work and don't have access to my laptop a lot.  It was more for the idea of a simple switch so I can jump between jpeg wise so I can easily transfer to phone and then later if wanted can do the dng on the laptop down the road.  Wasn't a bit deal.  Just wasn't sure if the front function button was able to make it a quick switch.
