Excuse my ignorance, but what the "Leica M parts" section. Is it a forum or something else? Can you link to it? In relatively new here, so please bear over with me 😊

Charles Morgan Posted June 26, 2021 Share #5 Posted June 26, 2021 So, recently, DAG and van Manen no longer do M5 repairs, adding to Cameraworks. Tells me something.
TomB_tx Posted June 26, 2021 Share #6 Posted June 26, 2021 Too bad - DAG did a great job servicing my M5 several years ago. Either parts are unavailable or he feels the cameras are too unreliable even after service. (He no longer services R cameras for those reasons.) BradS Posted June 26, 2021 Share #7 Posted June 26, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) When parts are no longer available, cameras cannot be reliably serviced.

plaidshirts Posted June 27, 2021 Share #9 Posted June 27, 2021 That’s unfortunate. That leaves Sherri Krauter as the only one of the big 3 for M5s.

"It is always a capitol offense to argue before the facts." Don has the parts, but he does not like the M5's design. His decision has nothing whatsoever to do with reliability or the lack thereof. Ko.Fe. Posted July 4, 2021 Share #11 Posted July 4, 2021 No wonder I saw one big fan of M5 selling it few days ago. Well, those cameras are old enough to have electronics not been available anymore.
