stunsworth Posted August 13, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) 4 shots stitched together, taken yesterday. Pity about the shadow from the quay, but I didn't want to make it _too_ panoramic :-) Canon 5D, 50mm Summicron.
Advertisement Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here Barmouth panorama, North Wales. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leicamann Posted August 13, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 13, 2006 Steve I pulled the image off the server and into Photoshop...looks great..I am begining to have my gripes about what is happening to peoples photographs posted here. Thanks for sharing Regards, Lei Ka Mann:)
stunsworth Posted August 13, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted August 13, 2006 It looks the same in Photoshop and the forum on my machine. There is a slight issue with burned out highlights on the white boats, but that's the same on and off the forum. I always convert to sRBG before uloading an image if that helps. jmr Posted August 14, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2006 Steve, nicely composed. I think the shadow works to offset the weight of the dark hills at top right. As you say, it looks the same in Photoshop as in the browser, Safari in my case.
jlancasterd Posted August 14, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2006 What happened to the red boat? I think we should be told!
stunsworth Posted August 14, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted August 14, 2006 Hi John, it's just a prop I carry around, I folded it up, put it in the boot of the car and drove off ;-)
fotografr Posted August 14, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great light going on here and a very nice stitching job. Wouldn't it be funny if the tide went out one day and never came back?
andybarton Posted August 14, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 14, 2006 Nice job Steve - what a productive weekend you had! Looks the same in my PSCS2 as on the web, I'm afraid.
stunsworth Posted August 14, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted August 14, 2006 Andy, yes it was a good weekend - ended with the car breaking down though!
jtharvie Posted August 14, 2006 Share #10 Posted August 14, 2006 Hi Steve, I am very impressed with your pano posts. Can you offer a tip or two . . . software, exposure etc. Cheers, jth
stunsworth Posted August 14, 2006 Author Share #11 Posted August 14, 2006 Hi John, thanks. I use Panorama Factory software... The Panorama Factory Windows only I'm afraid. The software does all the stitching and matching the various frames - and is very succesful IMHO. As for exposure, I meter what I judge to be the most representative area of the panorama and use that for all the shots.
jtharvie Posted August 14, 2006 Share #12 Posted August 14, 2006 Thanks Steve, I will give the Panorama Factory a test run and see if it is better than PhotoStitch. I will keep in mind using the same exposure as the most representive area . . . that makes good sense. Cheers, JTH
stunsworth Posted August 14, 2006 Author Share #13 Posted August 14, 2006 John, Panorama Factory will adjust the exposures to match, but it seems best to make it as easy as possible for the software. If you do try the software try using the 'Wizard' interface, I find it very simple.
