However, the organization part is still perplexing me. Perhaps someone has figured out this workflow problem (I have searched user forums for a solution and found nothing that works). Here is the issue: I have a desktop hard drive on which the master catalog sits with say 15,000 photos. It is divided into many sub-folders (for example, each geographic has a sub-folder). If I am off for a week to shoot, lets say I export photos in from a subfile called "Maine" to my laptop again naming it "Maine" on the laptop. I do this so I can work on previous photos while adding new photos and processing them while travel. When I return, I want to integrate the new photos and the older worked on photos into the desk top and in doing so, I want the photos to go back into the sub-folder they came from on the desktop "Maine"with the updates to both old and new.. I cannot get it to merge. What seems to happen is that new folders on the desktop are created into which my laptop work goes, and I have to move the pictures from this new sub-folder to the original folder (and that I cannot do at times if it is a duplicate)., The result is that I end up with multiple folders on the desk top called "Maine." barjohn Posted August 29, 2007 Share #23 Posted August 29, 2007 John, the difference here looks mainly to be the sharpening, so I think that the two platforms may have different defaults. What if you set both to the left end of the slider, or try to match results? The Windows shot has a shocking amount of mazeing in the tie, and the "detail" in the lapel looks to me mostly noise. Carsten, The sliders were all set to exactly the same position. I completely turned off noise reduction on both (all the way to the left). Both used the same M8 profile with lens detection and filter. The shot was taken with the M8 using a Minolta 40mm f2 lens with Leica UV/IR filter. Both were set to standard sharpening rather than the default soft. No sliders were touched in the sharpening section. If you look at the jacket you will notice that the thread detail is not really visible in the Mac image and clearly visible in the Windows version. Am I missing something? I don't see any significant improvement in the version 4 interface from the shot posted. Further, if it is not due now until first quarter of 08 it is still a long way off. The other big issue is performance. Both versions are very slow in processing the images for preview or actual process when compared to LR. Another question, on C1 LE what is the setting for the slider to display a 1:1 image? They show 100% when it is showing a small image that fits in teh viewing area and you can slide up to 600%, what does that mean? Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Below is the LR image set at default values with no changes to any sliders. As can clearly be seen, C1 LE does do a better job though still not quite good enough.
