Leica SL2-S "SYSTEM ERROR"

Hi,

 

Yesterday when using my SL2-S I suddenly got a "System Error" message in the LCD screen. The camera can't be used at all right now. I've tried changing batteries (with 5 minute interval and 24 hours interval), change SD card, format SD card but nothing helps. 

 

Anyone else had this issue?

Hi Jesper, I'm so sorry this is happening to you– at one point, this also happened to me and I was very worried. Eventually for me, I noticed that pressing down on the joystick button made the error go away, and after turning the camera off and on a few times, the error fully went away. I hope this helps!

Hi Aaron, Thank you for you're reply. Unfortunately it didn't work for me..

Not sure if It will work, but try this: take the battery off for 1h or more. It may help if it is "only" an electrical and not a firmware issue.

Jesper N,  I suggest you first save your profiles if you have any and then try resetting the camera.  On the last page of the menu, there is a camera reset function.  Use a fully charged battery and try it.   It might clear the error.  Failing that, call Leica Customer Service and discuss the issue.  Hope this helps.  r/ Mark
